Why Support Wind?

With the right policies in place, wind power can make a major contribution in the effort to protect the planet’s climate, while spurring tens of billions of dollars in economic investment, supporting hundreds of thousands of new American jobs, making America more independent and secure, and saving consumers more than $100 billion.

Congress plays a key role in formulating our federal energy policy by voting on energy bills and amendments.  Their support for the renewable energy industries will make a very positive impact on our future.

You can help to influence energy policy too.  Because you are their constituent, your members of Congress value your opinion. With your support, we can send a strong message to our lawmakers: wind is key to securing our future. Global warming is threatening our very existence. Our dependence on foreign oil threatens our national security. Many Americans are in need of jobs. Wind energy is the answer to each of these challenges. To enable wind power to generate an increasing amount of clean electricity, we need a stable, long-term policy that demonstrates America’s commitment to the development of renewable resources.
